Nina Arsenault: Queer Art Diva
(an evening of selected writings, monologues and visual art)
“Transsexual Nina Arsenault is a national queer icon whose performance works The Silicone Diaries and I was Barbie have been presented across Canada to sold out theatres and critical raves.
Formerly a reality TV star, a whore, a self-proclaimed “beauty addict” and a gay night life hostess she has reinvented and established herself as a public intellectual, a devoted aesthete and a postfeminist artistic force.
In May 2012, Intellect Books will publish TRANS(per)FORMING Nina Arsenault: An Unreasonable Body of Work — an international scholarly and artistic exploration of beauty, image, and the notion of queerness through the lens of Arsenault’s highly personal brand of performance art.”
