Come out to GLOW’s Drag Me To The Bomber! Get ready for a night of fun, dancing, and entertainment featuring professional and amateur drag queens and kings, with a special guest appearance by Manton and guest emcee Miss Drew! Absolutely everyone is welcome to attend; it doesn’t matter if you’re queer or straight, as long as you want to have fun! Check out the Facebook event here!

Where? Hosted at the Bomber, in the Student Life Centre
When? Saturday, March 6. Doors @ 8pm
Who? Everyone is welcome! All Ages for UW Students, 19+ for Non-UW (everyone bring ID!)
Cost? Pay-what-you-can donation (suggested $5)

An outreach representative from the AIDS Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and Area (ACCKWA) will also be present to provide FREE condoms, lube, safer sex info, and more!

If anyone is interested in completing this training (it is necessary if you want to hold Office Hours with GLOW), please RSVP to the GLOW email glow {at} glow.feds(.)ca, so we can get an estimate of numbers.

It’s happening on Tuesday, January 19, from 5:00pm-7:00pm in PAS 3005 lounge.

There will be food (read: p-i-z-z-a) and other tasty munchables and drinks, and it’s basically a great time to meet other volunteers like yourself and just hang out! It is a drop-in type of event, so if you have class until 5:30pm, no worries! Just stop by when you can!

“We are invited to join Dr Alice Kuzniar for her lecture on ‘The Persecution of Homosexuals in the Third Reich’, featuring the screening of PARAGRAPH 175, a documentary that tells the story of the men and women who were persecuted by Nazi Germany. Discussion to follow.”

11:00am start – Gaymazing Race!
“Be your own reality TV show in this highly-involved gameshow-style event! Teams of 2 or more people can come and set out on a race to figure out clues, navigate the campus, stumble through roadblock challenges, and make it to the finish line to win prizes! Event begins in the SLC Multipurpose Room, and starts shortly after 11am! No need to register, just show up!”

“Bring the week to a close with our final ceremony, including speakers, slideshows of the week in pictures, food, mingling, and the lowering of the Pride flag.”

Evening – Friday Night Movie Outing!
“This week we’ll be seeing “Paper Heart” at 9:25pm. This week we’ll be going to Princess Cinemas and we will be meeting in the SLC Great Hall in the SLC before heading over together.  If you’re interested in coming, you can join us either at the SLC GREAT HALL sometime from 7:40-7:50pm (we’ll be leaving to catch the iXpress to Uptown Waterloo at 7:50pm sharp) OR you can meet us outside of the theater (we’ll head inside at 9:00pm, as the movie starts at 9:25pm). After the movie, we’ll go to Cafe 1842 in Uptown Waterloo. If you can’t make it to the movie then feel free to just join us there!

Come celebrate community and diversity at the 29th annual Toronto Pride Parade!

GLOW will be marching in the parade, which is occurring on SUNDAY, JUNE 28TH. Our theme this year is “We Are Warriors” so be sure to deck yourselves out in Warriors gear and black and gold! Please try to keep within the colours of black and gold, (greys, whites, and yellows are great too!). Also, we will be having a Parade Prep Party for those interested in marching in the parade to add graphics to t-shirts.

BUS TICKETS (Roundtrip!)
Available in the FEDS office in the SLC from June 15th – 26th.
$10 for undergrads
$15 for others (grads, community members)
The bus leaves UW in front of the Davis Centre (DC) at 9:30am sharp on June 28, and arrives at corner of Jarvis St. and Carlton St. in Toronto at approximately 11:00am. The return bus, leaving Toronto at 9:30pm and arriving back in Waterloo around 11:00pm, will pick up and drop off at the same locations. Other marchers not taking the bus provided by GLOW should meet the bus passengers at Jarvis St. and Carlton St. at 11:15am.

PARADE PREP PARTY
(strongly recommended for those planning to march in the parade)
There will be two sessions available (you only need to go to one). The sessions will be held on Friday, June 19th and Friday, June 26th, with both starting at 6pm in the GLOW office (SLC Room 2101). Please bring a clean white t-shirt to decorate! There will be free pizza!
