11th Annual Rainbow Reels Queer Film Festival

Rainbow Reels is back! Kitchener-Waterloo’s hippest, coolest, and only Queer Film Festival is back and stronger than ever for its 11th consecutive year. With a brand new selection of films representing the experience of LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) people from all over the world, this film festival promises to engage, inspire, and excite.

The festival runs from March 2nd to March 6th, 2011

Description: This young adult novel is about fifteen-year-old Regan coming to terms with her sibling Liam/Luna being transgendered. The book has won numerous queer and young adult literature awards.

Tri-Pride’s Got Talent!

This will be the VERY first all ages Tri-Pride Fundraiser at K-W’s hottest LGBTQ Night Club. This will be a DRY event no alcoholic beverages will be served but feel free to enjoy some amazing MOCKTAILS! The night will be two parts, a competetion of talent and an amazing Dj’ed dance party. COMPETITION DETAILS:

Tri-Prides got talent is a talent competition based off of the television hit series “America’s Got Talent”. Contestants in Tri-Prides Got talent have seven minutes to awe both the audience and the judges with their talent (it can be anything from singing, dancing, drag, slam poetry and any other obscure talents) The winner will be awarded a slot of time on the main stage at the summer Tri-Pride celebration. Judging will be a two part system part one will be based off the judges who are selected and worth 50% of the overall vote, part two will be purchased votes that cost $1 a vote.

HOW TO ENTER:

Application for Tri-Pride’s Got Talent will be supplied by email. Application for entry must be submitted by Wednesday March 9th, no applications after this date will accepted NO EXCEPTIONS. The entry fee is $10.00 per person per act and must be submitted at the time of application, NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. All talent number will be expected to give a brief outline of their act and must comply with the rules and regulations of the competition. The Tri Pride’s Got Talent Team have the authority to end any act early based on a non-compliance to the rule and regulations of the competition.

RULES:

At no point in time may any of the contestants of Tri-Prides Got Talent be under the influence of drugs and or alcohol. Contestant may not use any vulgar language in any part of their act. Sexually explicit material will not be allowed under any circumstances and will result in complete disqualification from the event. No fire, No Pets and pyrotechnics or fireworks will be allowed in any acts, NO EXCEPTIONS.
