Mentorship Program

The GLOW Mentorship Program is available to students who are not currently volunteers, but want to learn more about the organization from a volunteer’s viewpoint and may be interested in becoming volunteers in the near future. The program provides access to some elements of volunteering without the full commitment and responsibility of holding consistent Centre hours. Participants will also have access to any leadership and/or professional development GLOW offers specifically towards its volunteers.

How the program runs:

  • Participants to the program can fill out this application and send it to transition {at} glow.feds(.)ca. Participants will be selected on a rolling basis, therefore there are no deadlines.
  • After being admitted to the program, participants will be paired with an existing senior volunteer to shadow on Centre shifts.
  • The volunteer will go over basis introductions to GLOW and any applicable policies that are expected to be upheld.
  • Program participants will also be able to volunteer with events and booths so long as an Executive Board member is present.
  • Program participants are automatically considered for upcoming terms to be part of the core volunteer team, and do not need to apply separately.

Note, while recommended, taking part in the GLOW Mentorship Program is not mandatory for anyone who would like to become a future volunteer.
